Curious about the incredible physical and cultural diversity of the United States and Canada? If so, this online course is for you! Geography 325: United States and Canada (a.k.a. "CanAm") focuses on the environmental, cultural, and economic geographies of this fascinating corner of the world. After an overview of environmental, cultural, and economic geography, you will learn about this part of the world through a regional approach, beginning in Canada's Maritime Provinces and working down to the Coastal South, then west through the Great Plains and Rocky Mountains to the West Coast & Hawai`i before turning north to the Arctic. An integral component of the class is a focus on the ways the concept and institution of race has shaped the social geographies of North America.
